Triplet Convention 2006 FAQ

The following is a response to an email that should answer some common questions about the 2006 Triplet Convention:

Q: What about heat and airplane ticket pricing?

A: At first i wondered the same thing about the heat. but after having lived in this unique area of the country for the past 4 years we've learned that the big cities know how to deal with it. the airconditioning is set very low, so bring jacket/sweater for meetings/shopping/restaurants. tucson and phx have great selections of restaurants and indoor activities because they know the heat can be unbearable. but remember it's a dry heat, so under 100 degrees it doesn't feel so repressive like the humid heat. You can get plenty of suncreen after you arrive :-)

As to air fare, US airways (merged with America West) flies direct to phx and we have found great rates. I recently signed up with their credit card and received a voucher that for one regular rate (over $250) I got two companion fares for $99 each (round trip!).

As to the price on the suites ($129/night), this is a deal! a few years ago we considered staying at this resort to celebrate our kids bday, but the rates were at least $200/night.

To make this a really fun extended family vacation, remember the grand canyon is just a few hours north!
